Thursday evening the W.S.C.S. of the Methodist Church met at the home of Mrs. Carson Lfllard. Rev. Lester, pastor of the church, introduced the new program for the year. Among members present were Mrs. G. W. Smith, Jr., Mrs. Lockett Burford, Mrs. Fannie Eastham and her house guest Mrs. Jenny Abbott, Mrs. Willie Gentry, Mrs. Frank Cary and Mrs. Emory Russell.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Davidson and family of Arlington were Sunday afternoon guests of Mrs. M. R. Bradford and Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Bradford, Jr.
Mrs. G. W. Smith, Jr. was in Harrisonburg Friday and Saturday. While there she attended the funeral of her aunt Mrs. C. E. Nicholas.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Spalding have been visiting Mrs. Spalding’s mother, Mrs. W. J. Kendrick at Warred Memorial Hospital in Front Royal daily. Mrs. Kendrick is somewhat improved.
Mrs. J. R. Earnest of Front Royal spent the day recently with Mrs. John S. Browning. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Browning were callers of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Turner at their home in Front Royal. Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Browning and son Butch were dinner guests at the Hy-Wy m Front Royal.
Mrs. Joe Jenkins and Mrs. John S. Browning visited Mrs. O. W. (filbert at Sunset Nursing Home neSr Culpeper Sunday after noon.
