The resolution: We are deeply shocked to learn of the issuance by Secretary of Labor Mitchell of regulations under which he expected to regulate the transportation, rates of pay and bousing conditions with regard to migratory workers in agriculture.
We vigorously object to this intrusion on the part of the Secretary of Labor into the affairs of agriculture, an action which we consider of questionable legality .entirely impractical and not to the hpst interest of either migratory workers or those who provide for their employment
We shall, therefore, do everything within our power tm nullify . these regulations either by legal ! , action, legislative action, or by any other appropriate means at our disposal.
We vigorously reaffirm our opposition to the extension of wage and hour regulations, either now or in the future, used in tthe production of the Nation’s FOOD and Fiber.”
