New Industry
With the population of rural counties diminishing each year, and the tax pdoblems increasing each year, the following estimate released by the U. S. Chamber of ComT>rce
is worthy of note.
A light industry employing 200 people, the Chamber says will result in 39$ new homes, 320 automobile sales, 32 new retail stores, 24 more professional men, 18 school teachers, abd 22 additional classrooms. Bank deposits would increase by 1 million dollars and 1.5 millions more in life insurance would be sold. *
We feel that these figures certainly justify the Rappahannock Board-of Supervisors in making every effort possible to attract desirable light industry to the County.
