THE ANSWER TO “My Get Up And Go Has Got Up And Went” Why should people, just because they are pray; Think they are oW and act that way? The one who says, his got up and went, Must know a good reason why his youth is spent. Each year we get older, that we can’t deny ;v • But aae don’t have to droop, hold your head up high; 9 Take your ears from the drawer, put your new teeth in, And always greet people with a great big grin. An old dog can’t learn new tricks, I’m told, That’s why I know I will never get old; When I quit learning, and my llife is all spent, Then I’ll say, “My got up has completefly went’’. Sometimes at night when I go to bed, I feel as if I am half dead; The^next morning I wake, and feel the same way But I get up to see what’s new for the day. When I get to the age I’m a burden to all, Please, dear Lord, answer my feeble call, And I hope I can say, with a sincere grin; My get up and go has surely been. When my Maker sees fit to cash in the chips, Don’t feel too bad when you read my “Obit’’; Just say to yourself, her life was well spent, Now her get up and go has got up and went.
