Multi-million dollar expansions are planned by the Manchester Paper Board Company, of Richmond, and by the E. I. duPont de Nemours and Company, in Chesterfield County near Richmond. The latter is preparing to initiate production of nylon tire cord after expansion. Other expansions under waif' or announced during the secontUquarter include firms producing furniture and wood products, clothing and food products.

30th Anniversary
Employees of the Veterans Administration throughout the land join hands on Thursday, July 21, to celebrate the 30th birthday of the VA.
On July .1. 10.1(1 a law was passed authorizing the President to "consolidate and coordinate government activities affecting war veterans." Under authority of this law, the President formed the Veterans Administration, by an executive order of July 21, 1930.
VA took over the functions of three great agencies, the Veterans Bureau, the Pension Bureau of the Interior Department, and the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers. VA since that time has come to be recognized as the basic agency handling benefits for veterans and their families.
Veterans Administration hospitals, regional offices and centers throughout the United States are fiolding simultaneous 30th anniversary observances for their employees on July 21.
