The Farmers Home Administration is not competitive witk commercial sources of credit. The agency stands ready to assist farmers who cannot obtain the credit they need at terms they can meet from commercial lenders. More farmers are becoming eligible for FHA assistance each year due to the rising cost of farming.
John (r. Castle, County Supervisor in the Culpeper Office, states that one of his greatest problems is that fanners do not apply for assistance early enough. Many farmers become so heavily indebted before they apply, it becomes difficult. if not impossible, to assist them.
Mr. Castle said “The Culpeper office has a tremendous potential for business. This potential has been limited in the past by lack of personnel, lack of loan funds at times, and failure to apply for assistance. The personnel and loan fund limitations will be less of a problem this year. If the eligible farmers who need assistance will apply, this office will have one of its most successful years.”
The Culpeper Office, located at 505 North Main Street, Culpeper, serv es the counties of Culpeper, Orange, Fairfax, Fauquier, Greene, Madison, Prince William, Rappahannock and Stafford.
