Columbus E. Gore
Columbus Edward Gore of Castleton died Saturday, August 6, in Fauquier Hospital, WarTenton, where had been a patient following an illness on Thursday. He was 71.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bessie Gooch Gore; three daughters, Mrs. Nina Compton of Bristow, Va., Mrs. Della Marino of Washington, Va., and “Mrs. Thomas M. L tz of Castleton, Va.; five sons, Garnett M. Gore of Alexandria, Va., Edward P. Gore of Indianhead, Md., and Richard F., Elmer E. and Ennis A Gore, all of Castleton, Va.; a sister, Mrs. John B. Corder of Culpeper; and fifteen grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Monday, August 8 from Gourdvine Baptist Church of which Mr. Gore was a member, with interment in the church cemetery. His pastor, Rev. Donald Buchanan, conducted the last rites.
Pallbearers were Milton Corder, John Woodward, Jr., Robert Ellis, Jim Gore, Carroll Gore, Hunter Gore and Lee Gore.
Geest Funeral Parlors were in charge of arrangements.
