Edward G- Burke
Edward Garfield Burke of Flint Hill, Va., died August 4 at his home in Horse Shoe Hollow, after many years of failing health. He was 78 years of age.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Fannie Burke; four sons, Garfield, John, Robert and William all of Flint Hill. Also surviving are four children by a former marriage to Mrs. Bertha Smoot Burke. They are two daughters, Mrs. Gothie Fincham and Mrs. Guy Foster of Flint Hill; two sons, Andrew Burke of Manassas and Bennie Burke of Phoenix, Arizona ; Fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 2:0t) p.m. Saturday from the Pentecostal Church in Flint Hill with his pastor, Rev. James Pitman, officiating. Interment was in the Masonic Cemetery in Washington, Va. ‘ Pallbearers were Charlie Burke, Guy Foster, Jr., Bob Burke, Jimmy Burke, Earl Burke and Henry Jenkins.
Burton and Geest Funeral Parlors of Washington, Va. were in charge of arrangements.
