Budget Approved
With Levy Increase
At an announced meeting of the Board of Supervisors held Wednesday at the court house in Washington, the proposed budget was approved with a 25 cent tax levy increase. Only a few Rappahannock residents were present for the meeting, those being mostly interested in school funds.
Also approved by the Board was the purchase of a two way radio for the County Forest Servkf?, which will enable direct contact from Red Oak Tower with Division of Forestry headquarters in Charlottesville. It was considered too, that it would be useful for Civil Defense if a national emergency should ever arise.

L. Gouotn Enlist* In Army
M/Sgt. Cline, the local Army Recruiter for Rappahannock County, announced the enlistment into the Army of Larry Gossom, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Adams, Sperryville.
Upon completion of training at Fort Jackson, S. C. Gossom will be assigned duties in the Automotive Maintenance Field.
