Woodard Dies
Mrs. Louemma Woodard of Sperryville, wife of the late —George R. L. Woodard, died Saturday, May 6, at a Staunton hospital following several years of declining health. Daughter of the late William J. Jentins and Souvillah Petty, his wife, of Sperryville, she was 65. .She is survived by five daughters Mrs. Emma Coppage and Mrs. Lorelle Coppage, both of Waldorf, Md., Mrs. Melvin Carder of Culpeper, Mrs. George Woodard of Amissville, and Mrs. Ray Nethers of Winchester; two sons, Russell Woodard, Front Royal and William Woodard of the EJ.S. Army in Germany; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Hutt and Mrs. Daisy Frazier, both of Sperryville, Mrs. Leo Luber of Front Royal, and Mrs. Mae ClaTterbuck, Sperryville; and two brothers, Jesse Jenkins, Front Royal and Denton Jenkins of Marshall. A funeral service was held Monday, May 8 from the Geest Funeral Chapel, w|th interment in Fairview Cemetery. Rev. William A. Jester, pastor of Sperryville Methodist Church of which Mrs. Woodard was a member, conducted the last rites, assisted by Eld. J. H. Daily of Sperryville. Pallbearers were Lyle Rector, Floyd Clatterbuck, Charlie Woodard, Ernest Woodard, William Luber, John Jenkins, Thurman Jenkins and Reynolds Leake.
