Dear Sir:
In view of the profound significonce and the general interest in the Eichmann trial, permit me to comment oil your editorial of April 13. The main point )bu raise is that a man must be tried in the place where he committed his crimes, under the American system of law.
1. The London Agreement and Charter of August 1945, which was subscribed to by the United States Government, defines Nazi crimes as of “no specific geographic location.” The “territoriality jurisdiction ” principle, therefore, does not apply in the case of war crimes, as it did not apply in tbe cases of the American Military Court and the British Military Court, which tried war criminals in various countries for crimes committed in various other countries.
