Auto Accidents

Friday, several people were injured slightly in an auto-truck accident at Massie’s Comer.

John Harrison Powers of Flint Hill, driving a 1953 GMC truck made a left turn off Rt. 211 to Rt. 522 into the path of an oncoming car, a 1957 Pontiac driven by Paul Richard Cubbage of Stanley.

Six passengers in the Cubbage car and one in the Powers vehicle were taken to Warren Memorial Hospital where they were treated and released except for one who was hospitalized for two days.

Approximately $1500 property damage resulted.

May 6 at 10:45 p.m. Ernest Franklin Clater driving a 1956 Ford sedan ran off the right shoulder of the road and struck a treei Clater was hospitalized at Warren Memorial with broken ribs and shock. Property damage was estimated at $1000.

Friday, May 5, Rappahannock and Flint Hill Rescue Squads took the victims of an auto accident at Massie’s Corner to Warren Memorial Hospital and Page County Hospital., » Saturday, Mtay 6 Rappahannock Rescue Squad took Ernest Clater to Warren Memorial Hospital. Tuesday night, Amissville Fire Company answered a call to a house fire at the Ted Settle farm at Viewtown. The house, vacant, was destroyed.
