Convicted

Lloyd A. Painter, 36, of Stanley, Va. was convicted by /& Circuit Court Jury on Tuesday tor operating his automobile while intoxicated. He was fined $100 and costs. The conviction carries an automatic revocation of his driver’s license for a period of one year. The offense occurred March 1 at 6 p.m.

Trooper W. A. Biintin, the arresting officer, testified that Mr. Painter, a boiler-maker by trade,was weaving his car across the centerline on Highway 211 west of Amissville where the road has dangerous curves and hills. The officer also testified that, at the time of arrest, the accused had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, was unsteady on his feet, was unusually polite and jolly about the whole affair. Mr. Burke the jailer, testified that he foolishly joked while being locked up.
