Mrs. Virgil Updike reports that her mother, Mrs. Alice Vemer, who is a patient in the University of Virginia iHospital, Charlottesville, is in a cast from her shoulders to her ankles. This treatment is being used to keep her hip immobile. ' Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Hawkins had as weekend guests Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Hawkins and child of Arlington and Bobbie Hawkins also of Arlington. Sunday guests for dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Alther, Jr. and child, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Bennett of Front Royal, Mr. and Mrs. Garfield Burke and baby and Bernard Burke of Woodville, and Miss Jeannetta LiLlard, Flint Hill.
Sunday suipper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wade H. Massie, III at Hampden Hall were Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Wallihan of Front Roval. Tuesday guests for dinner were Wade H. Massie, Jr. and Tom Massie of Lookout Heights.
