Reunion Class Of *38

'On June 24th the Washington. High School'Class of ’38 held a reunion, the first since the class graduated.

A social hour was held at the home of Mrs. Robert (Stella Dennis) Johnson and Mr. Johnson on the Browntowm Road, Front Royal, followed bydinner at the Virginia Gentleman Restaurant. Old acquaintances were renewed and many new ones made. Due to distance and engagements, there were nine members of the class who were unable to attend and were very much missed by the others.

Those in attendance were Milton Gore and his wife Amy Lee; Russell Jones and wife Ruth; Marion Marlowe White; Charles Mills; Billy Moffett and: wife Jean,; Lewis Nelson and guest Mildred Bryant; Lou Norman Fortune and husband Kenneth, Virginia Pullen Olli and husband A1; Thelma Putman Poe and husband Herbert; Alice Reid Wood; Edward Williams and wife Edith; Stella Dennis Johnson and husband Bob; and Billy Curtis and his wife Anna Racer Curtis, who was also a class member.

A pleasant sprprise was in store when Mr. Milton Hollingsworth who was principal of WHS in ’38 and his wife, Sylvia arrived from Norfolk for the oocasion. Mr. Hollingsworth is now retired. The Hollingsworths have two daughters, Patricia and Sylvia both at home. The class expressed their appreciation to Mrs. Stella Johnson and Mr. Edward Williams for making arrangements for the reunion, which was most successful.
