Medt At Parish Hall
The Rappahannock Garden Club will hold its regular July meeting at the Episcopal parish hall on Wednesday the 19th at 2 p.m. EST. Mrs. C. B. Johnson will be hostess. Mrs. H. B. Winfrey, program chairman, will introduce Mr. W, H. Lyne, County Agent, who will speak on planning and zjomfg projects in the cqunty.
Chester Gap Carnival
Proves Successful
On June 29-30 and July 1st, the Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department celebrated its first year of operation with its first carnival. Near perfect weather held throughout the three days of the event which was held on the David Williams lot near the new firehouse.
While attendance was light the ;first two nights, on Saturday a capacity crowd assured the success of the carnival. Gross receipts for the three nights were $2,735.03.
The Chester Gap Fire Company "•expressed its appreciation to all neighboring fire companies for the able assistance extended by the use of equipment, adivce and personnel.
Thanks were extended to all who attended the carnival and made ‘donations’ of good humor and to those who were unable to attend but sent checks anyway.
