ASC Has New Name

The ASC and county offices have a new name. The word “Service’* has been added.

In the future these offices will be called Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) Offices.

While no change has been made in the State and County operations, the change of name is in accordance with a redesignation of the organization at the Washington level. The former Commodity Stabilization Service {CSS) will be konwn as the Agricultural Stabilization Service (ASCS). The administrator and associate administrator, H. D. Godfrey and E. A. Jaenke, respectively, have been assumed these positions in the new agency which falls directly under the Assistant Secretary, Agricultural Stabilization, Dr. James T. Ralph.

ASCS State and County offices will function undqr th Deputy Administrator, State and County Operations, who is Emery E. Jacobs.

State, county and community fanner committees will continue to be designated as Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation (ASC) Committees.
