A long range subdivision plan for Rappahannock County is under serious study by the Hoard of Supervisors. At its November meeting yesterday, the Hoard appointed a committee of five to prepare an ordinance persu int to the state Code requirement for subdivision controls. The committee is composed of (Jeorgc H. Davis, Jr., chairman, E. M. Jones, Mrs. C. E. Johnson, Jr., Marvin Eastham, and J. T. Warren Mr. Eastham is the county sanitation officer and Mr. Warren the highway resident engineer. This committee will meet in the near future with W. B. Specks and O. L. Brown of the League of Counties, who are experts in the field of subdivision planning.
The Supervisors ilso heard Fred C. Torbery, presented by Commissioner of Revenue, Mrs. Roberta Spalding, on rite subject of the 1962 reassessment of real estate. Mr. Torberg is Division Director for |leal Estate Appraisals with the State Department of Taxation. Employment by the Supervisors of an independent real estate appraisal firm in Richmond was authorized to g?ve the necessary technical assistance to the court appointed Re-assessment Boarc for 1962. It is estimated that the cost to the county for this work will be between four and s'x thousand dollars.
Miss Anna Ruth Barnett, the Home Agent for Rappahannock, tendered her resignation and the Board accepted it with reluctance.*
