A Thanksgiving dinner will be held at the home of Mrs. Nellie Andes, Sperryville, Va. on November 23 at 1 p.m. The menu will consist of turkey, gravy, stuffing, green beans, sweet potatoes,1 rolls, pie, coffee and tea. Price is 75c in and $1.00 out. Sponsored by the Tigeresses Club.
Forest Poles Dies
Forrest Poles died October 21, 1961 in a Veterans hospital in Brooklyn, New York. He was born August 28, 1910 and was a veteran of World War 11.
He leaves to mourn his wife, Mrs. Catilla Clark Poles, Brooklyn, N. Y., his mother Mrs. Jennie D. poles of Philadelphia, Pa., five sisters, Mrs. Esther J. Freeman, Mrs. Beatrice Timbers, Mrs. Martha Siner and Mrs. Rose Mae Lewis, all of Philadelphia, and j Mrs. Matilda Mundy of Wash-' ington, Va.; also a host of nieces, j nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held on October 24 at Roberson Funeral Home and burial was in Long Island, N. Y. with military honors.
Mrs. Matilda Mundy, Mrs. Havanna Jeffries and Mrs. Albert Gatewood attended the funeral.
Army Capt. Samuel J. Glasker, whose wife, Phyllis, lives at 1857 California St., NW, Washington, D. C., recently arrived ini Germany and is now assigned to the 19th Ordnance Battalion. Captain Glasker. commander of. the battalion's 182nd Ordnance Company in Ha ran, entered the Army in July 1956.
