For Town Election
Tuesday, June 12 is an election day for the town ot Washington, Va., when a mayor and six councilmen are to be elected. This will be a write-in vote for no candidates have qualified for the offices.
Outgoing mayor, Mrs. Wallace Critzer, made a statement several weeks ago that she would not seek re-election and would not acceptthe office on any conditions.
Washington has been ruled by “ladies” for the past 12 years. In 1950 an all-woman slate was voted into office in a write-in election.
Well ladies, looks as if it is up to you again.
