Barney Pauze’ and Bonnie Brown are top honor students of the graduating class of Rappahannock County High School. They had exactly the same scholastic average for their four years of high school. Commencement exercise will be held Friday evening, June 8 at eight o’clock in the school auditorium.
Barney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pauze’ of Woodville, has been very active in the Student Council Association and Future Teachers Association. He was on the staff of the annual and a member of the baseball team.
Bonnie Brown is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brown of Sperryville. She was reporter for the local chapter of Future Homemakers and president of the District F.H.A. Federation. Bonnie will be awarded a State Homemakers degree at the convention next week and has received an award from Proctor & Gamble for an outstanding student in Home Economics. She was a member of the annual staff and F.T.A.
Salutatorian of the class is Dorothy Cook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rymond Cooke of Castleton. She was a member of the annual staff, F.H.A. and Literary Club, and received an award for outstanding leadership.
At commencement, the class history will be given by Nancy Latham, daughter of Mrs. Sarah Latham of Amissville. Nancy was the Editor-in-Chief of the school yearbook, The Rappsody. She was cocaptain and a guard on the basketball team which won the District Nine chmpionship, a member and secretary of the Varsity Club.
