Flint Hill opened its annual Firemens carnival last night with a brilliant display of fire works highlighting the evening.
Tonight a mammoth parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. DST and will include floats, bands, beauty queens, marching units, majorettes and many other units of fire fighting equipment rescue squads, etc.
The Headquarters Command Band which will lead the Flint Hill Fireman’s Parade August 2nd at 6:30 (D.S.T-) is the Air Force's official ceremonial hand which performs for visiting dignitaries and foreign Heads of State upon their arrival at Washington, D. C.
The 30-piece band is a group of highly trained musicians that average two performances daily at various functions in the Washington area. They have played ai formal welcoming ceremonies foi Queen 'Elizabeth of England, King iDn Saud of Saudi Arabia, Presi dent Dien of Viet Nam and man; other high ranking officials.
They -represent. the Air Fore at military funerals held at Arl Tigton National Cemetery, ant participate at many military fun< tions such as parade and retreal ceremonies. They provide musk for formal. wreath-laying cere monies at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington Cemetery.
In addition to formal duties, they have functioned with many civic organizations, fraternal and veteran’s organizations in parades and ceremonies.
