bands and the like. They have given many concerts at Walter Reed Hospital and at Watergate .Theater.
Their appearance is frequent at departmental ceremonies held by various Washington, governmental agencies.
The band is composed of enlisted airmen, almost half of whom are college graduates. All are carefully auditioned before being accepted for membership in the select organization. Three quarters of the band are career airmen, with over 10 years service each.
One of the bandsmen is Master Sergeant Leo Keller, who played in the wartime Air Force Band led by the late Glenn Miller. Another is Master Sergeant Bruce Snyder, who is a graduate of the University of North Carolina. Sergeant Snyder played the saxophone with both die Tommy Dorsey bands and has appeared in several MGM movies.
