James W. Lillard
James W. Lillard of Flint Hill died Thursday, October 18, 1964 at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nethers, Flint Hill, at the age of 85. He was a native of Madison County, son of the late Henry Lillard and Martha Printz Lillard.
In addition to Mrs. Nethers he is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Moffett Brady of Flint Hill and Mrs. Nellie Pritchett of Front Royal; three sons, Clyde Lillard and Carson Lillard, both of Flint Hill and Aubrey Lillard of Gainesville; 37 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren; and two brothers Johnny Lillard of Etlan, and Judd Lillard of Martinsburg, W. Va. A funeral service was held Saturday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m. in the Geest Funeral Chape}, Culpeper with interment in Etlan Cemetery. The service was conducted by the Rev. H. W. Longfellow, pastor of Etlan Methodist Church, of which Mr. Lillard was a member, assisted by Rev. James B. Grimmer of Flint Hill. Pallbearers were Roy Lillard, Ernest Lillard, Nelson Nethers, Beech Guessfor^ Pete Estes and Jack Lillard.
