Members are invited to bring1 items of antiquity, known to have been used in the area, for display and identification. The Society is especially anxious to learn of the existance of any and all old issues of the Blue Ridge Echo, and the Guide. The Society is willing to purchase all issues found dated before 1925. At this meeting, a discussion on the recove ry of old pictures, photographs, and drawings about people, places and things of interest in the County will be held. An exhibit will be collected in the coming months and will be shown at the Library. This is to alert everyone who might have or know of any of these items - tintypes, prints, sketches, and paintings, especially of action scenes such as harvesting, mill operation, pike building, tobacco marketing, community gatherings, fires, hunting scenes and such. They will all serve to give us a flash back of life here in the past. All of these are valuable, because they are records of people and what they did in this area. As you house clean or check over attics and trunks please do not discard items of this kind. Even though you cannot identify the subjects, there may be others who can.
