The Library Board is responsible to the County for the good operation and extension of its facilities to as many people as can use them. The Board is composed of five Trustees, appointed for various terms by the County Judge and a committee of three from each of the six districts. Thus the Library is well represented in all areas of the County and the twenty-three members are doing their best to give this County a Library service as good as any County in all of rural Virginia. We do not and cannot qualify for State aid. However our expenses are paid to date,thanks to many win labor long hours, and generous friends. Rappahannock County can be proud of this cultural and educati anal facility and its impact on the well-being of the communi /.
A building, no matter how beautiful, with thousands of books, no matter how good, do not make a Library. A Li-; brary is an active thing, a liv-1 ing, dynamic thing. And if we are to have such a facility in our midst we must have children, and grown folks constantly dropping in to the build ing, selecting suitable reading to entertain, to inform, to train, and to fire the imagination to develop and extend the reaches of our minds. This is what it takes to complete our County Library. This is: where the people do their part in making the Library: live. The Board is doing what must be done in providing the facility, and it is equal to facilities in better financed areas. Library hours are Wed nesday afternoons, and Saturday mornings. Will you cornel and enjoy a good book?

The letters which have ap-j pea red in the Rappahannock News for the past several weeks have made good reading, but there is still one topic left unstirred. Can anyone explain to me why house trailers should not be allowed in our fair county? There are persons who desire residence here but cannot afford a large beautiful home. I understand that house trailers present an “eye sore”
