Joanne will continue her riding instruction in Vienna, this summer and intends to show horses for other people. She anticipates returning to England in a few years to get her Instructor's degree. While Joanne was in school, Mrs. van Brederode visited in England and tpured much of the continent. In Hannover, Germany she visited Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Lachmann with whom her son Robert had lived while he was an American Field Service exchange student in 1960. Other points of interest on her tour were Paris, Lisbon, Barcelona, Palma de Majorca, Nice, Rome, Athens and Istanbul. While in Istanbul she visited Cuno Akalin who was an AFS exchange student to the U. S. in 63-64. “The trip was wonderful and I enjoyed it immensely", said Mrs. van Brederode, “but it is certainly nice to be back in the States and home again.”
