Visiting firemen, auxiliary members and rescue squads - men from Amissvill'e, Culpeper, Marshall, Front Royal, The Plains, Washington, Sperryville, Brandy Station and Chester Gap joined the local department for the celebration. Guest speaker for the evening was James J. Crawford Managing Editor of the Northern Virginia Daily, Strasburg.
Among guests present were the Hon. John O. Marsh, Jr., Seventh District Congressman; Raymond Johnson, County Forest Warden; Troopers W. A. Buntin, J. B. Willis and Charlie Jackson; Deputy Sheriff John Walker Jenkins; J. R. Latham, Bowser Williams and Charles Bowling, friends of the company who render such assistance at carnival time; and many others. Representatives of business firms in the Front Royal area were Drayton and Ken Gordon of W. F. T. R. radio station; Glen Robertson of Citizens National Bank, Stuart Payne, National Bank of Warren, Carliss Wines of Skyline Caverns, Rufus Wall of Wall’s Jeweler, Frank Stoutemverof Kerfoot and Stoutemyer, W.
