Amid exclamations of excitement and tears of joy, Miss Darlene Woodward of Castleton received the title of Miss Rappahannock 1968 at the annual Beauty Pageant held Friday evening. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Woodward, Jr. and received' her crystal tiara from Miss i Bonnie North, the 1967 Miss Rappahannock. The pageant was sponsored by the Rappahannock Jaycee Chapter with | Jim Willis a6 chairman and emcee. Miss Rappahannock received a cash award of $50 and is entitled to a $200 scholarship when and if she continues her schooling after graduation! from high school. She is a; senior at Rappahannock Coun-j ty High School. First runner-up was Miss Flea nor Rector of Flint Hill, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. j 1 .y le Rector. In third place was' Miss Bonnie DeMent, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve DeMent III of Sperryville. Miss Beverly Beahm was named Miss Congeniality by fellow contestants in the two older groups.
