Saturday night’a twister raged down the side of Hazel Mountain near SperTyville leaving a path of destruction in the forest. This large tree was twisted completely in half and big branches were wrenched from it. T. J. Pillar is in the background. He, along with E. N. Montague, went to the aid of Mr. and Mrs. William Beck whose cabin was cut off from civilization by fallen trees. A small power saw handled by the men soon arranged an exit from the mountain The Beck cottage which was near here was not damaged though trees were down around it on all aides.
