Henry A. Brown Jr.
Henry Aldridge Brown, Jr. of Sperryville died at his residence on August 6, 1969. He was a native of Rappahannock, the son of the late Henry Aldridge and Almira Woodward Brown. Mr. Brown was a retired merchant and had operated Henry’s Grocery, a store and service station in the F. T. Valley, until last year. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Chloe Bruce Brown; two sons, H. Bruce Brown of Culpeper and T/Sgt. Ralph W. Brown of Wheelus Air Force Base in Libya; a daughter, Miss Bonnie Heaton Brown of Washington, D. C. Also surviving are two brothers, Maury W. Brown of Sperryville and Robert F. Brown, Raleigh, N. C.; three sisters, Mrs. A. R. Partlow, Culpeper, Mrs. Earl Way land and Mrs. E. W. Gore, both of Sperryville; and four grandchildren. A funeral service was held Sunday at 3 p.m. from the Geest Funeral Chapel in Culpeper with the Rev. James Adkins officiating. Interment was in Sperryville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Nelson Nethers, Willie Jenkins, Jack Partlow, Billy Partlow, Con Osbourne, Francis Bruce, Larry Way land, Jonal Alther and William Alther.
