Elementary PTA Plans Annual Used Book Sales

The Parent-Teacher Association of Rappahannock County Elementary Schoo' will be responsible for selling used textbooks at the beginning of school this year, as it has done for several years. All Mathematics, Science and Health books will be changed this year, so these old textbooks will not be used or resold. Children are advised to bring books to school the first day.

Garden Club Meeting Scheduled Aug. 20

The Rappahannock County Garden Club will meet on Wednesday, August 20, at two o’clock at the home of Col. and Mrs. Maurice L. Biddle near Sperryville.

Mrs. T. J. Pillar is in charge of the program “How Many Days to Christmas”. The exhibit for this month is a Christmas decoration or ornament.

Two-Car Collision

West of Sperryville

I Two vehicles were involved in a collision on Route 211 west of Sperryville late Friday night. TYooper J. B. Willis investigated the crash which occurred 2.2 miles west of the village at 12:45 a.m.

David Lee Pilgrim of Culpepei operating a 1962 Chevrolet convertible owned by Lewis M. Jenkins, also of Culpeper, struck a vehicle he was meeting. The other vehicle was a 1967 Chevrolet owned and operated by James Milton Martin of Silver Spring, Md. and pulling a camper trailer. Pilgrim crossed the center of the road ar 1 struck the camper demolishing it, according to the officer.

Margaret Martin sustained a bruised shoulder and contusions of the head. Lewis Jenkins received a bruised right leg.

Pilgrim was charged with reckless driving.
