Two Single-Car
Crashes Reported
A car overturned near the top of the mountain on Route 211 Sunday night. According to Trooper J. B. Willis, John Frederick King of Arlington, operating a 67 Mercury Cougar owned by his wife, lost control of the vehicle on the wet road, then struck the bank and overturned.
The driver sustained a back injury and his wife received lacerations of the hands and abrasions of both knees. Mrs. Ethel King of Massachusetts sustained a shoulder injury. Damage to the car was estimated at $1,000.
Mrs. Sarah Ann Ward of Charlottesville escaped injury when she struck a bank on Route 522 north of Huntly Monday. She lost control of the car on a curve and spun into the bank. She was driving a 66 Ford Mustang convertible.
