Col. Evan A. McNear of Greenwood Farm, Washington, Va. has been recognized as the 1969 Outstanding Conservation Farmer of the Year in Rappahannock County. The announcement was made last Wednesday evening at the annual awards dinner of the Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District held at Graves Lodge, Syria.

Since Col. McNear purchased Greenwood farm in the foothills of the Blue Ridge, he has been interested in and done a magnificent job in soil and water conservation.
