A barn on the farm of L. H. LuttreU at Amissville was destroyed by fire Tuesday night. The fire was discovered by G. H. Dennis and at that time the flames were lapping at the eaves of the building. As the roof fell in, above, the scene resembled a gigantic display of fireworks. Any attempt to save the barn were futile, however Amissville firemen kept other buildings nearby hosed down and avoided further damage. Lightning was the apparent cause of the blaze. There was about 300 bales of hay lost.
