A tip of the old felt hat goes to four Rappahannock youngsters who each in their own way did exceedingly well at the Culpeper four county Junior fair.
Mias Donna Cannon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cannon of Castleton brought back that big, beautiful grand champion steer trophy to Rappahannock. Her home bred Angus steer topped a strong class of Angus steers. Then went on to become champion Angus. And finally, after a long suspenseful scrutiny, judge Ike EUer slapped Donna’s steer on the rump and named him grand champion steer of the show. Donna’s 980 pound steer was auctioned off to high bidder Jim Cornett, Manager of the Culpeper Fanners’ Co-op. for a whopping $1.01 per pound. C. G. and David Thornhill, sons
