“As You Like It”, a flower show sponsored by the Rappahannock County Garden Club, is scheduled for this Saturday, May 22 from 2 until 8 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church Parish Hall in Washington, Va. Any amateur gardener is invited to enter the ■how. Categories of the show include educational exhibits, horticultural exhibits and artistic exhibits. Entries will be received from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning, and judging will begin at 11 a.m. Educational exhibits include conservation and soils with peonies, Iris, roses, perennials and shrubs in the horticultural groups. The five artistic classes are “Doing Your Thing”, “Love Story”, “Country Gentry”, ‘Happy Hour”, and “Maybe Next Time”. Men are encouraged to exhibit in division A of Class HI, “Country Gentry” far men only. Anyone who has never won a blue ribbon may enter the novice class, “Maybe Next Time”.
Ribbons will be given in all classes; a tricolor may be given in artistic classes and sweepstakes ribbon will by given in horticultural and artistic sections.
There is no admission, but a silver offering is acceptable.
