Charles Hitt checked in a 6 pt. buck; Jeremiah Atkins of Culpeper, his second deer of the season, a 7 pointer; and J. B Carter of Amissville a 5 point buck. The stations at Sperryville and Washington seem to be handling about the usual number of deer for this same period. Among those c lecking deer at Baldwin’s Grocery in Washington since the first 2 days are: Charles Nordin, 10 pt.; Tommie Waters, 3 pt.; Jimmy Foster, 4 pt.; Clyde Pullen, 4 pt.; Ronnie Walters, 3 pt.; and John Clark, Jr., 7 pt. Local hunters who have checked deer at Sperryville Esso include Charles Smoot, 8 pt.; Charles Woodward, 8 pt.; James R. Dodson, 2 pt.; and a 4 point buck taken by Sammy Dwyer of Sperryville.
Four bear have been bagged in Rappahannock. This figure is about the same for a similiar period last year when 9 were taken for the season.
