John Allen Vest
John Allen Vest, 59, of Huntly died at his home Thursday, November 25, 1971. He was the son of the late William Eldridge Vest and Saide Morris Vest. He had been an employee of the American Viscose Division FMC, Corp. for 31 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Christine Looney Vest of Huntly; three sons, Rodney Allen Vest of Woodville, James Michael Vest and Norman Grady Vest, both of Flint Hill; and a brother, Raymond Vest of Lexington, Va.
A funeral service was held Sunday at the Flint Hill Methodist Church of which he was a member. The Rev. Jerry Campbell conducted the service, and interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were C. E. Leadman, E. J. Welch, Dave Ramsey, Lynn Atkins, Jack Chadwell, Wallace Russell, Roland Welch and Lester Clatterbuck. Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal, was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Della Marino
A funeral service for Mrs. Della Marino of Washington, D. C. was held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Gourdvine Baptist Church at Estes, conducted by the Rev. Gordon George. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Marino, 55, widow of Sam Marino, died November 27, 1971, in a Washington hospital. She was a native of Rappahannock County, daughter of the late Edward Gore and Bessie Gooch Gore. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Menefee Utz of Castleton and Mrs. Albert Compton of Haymarket; and four brothers, Elmer E. Gore of Fairfax, Richard F. Gore of Castleton, Edward Gore of Bryans Road, Md., and Ennis A. Gore of Culpeper.
