Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Cain for Thanksgiving were their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. George Cain and children, Brian, Belinda and Julie of Alexandria, and their grandson, Mark Griffith, of Rockaway, N. J.
Mr. and Mrs. Bemie Burnette and son, David, of Annandale visited in the Hubert Gilkey and the Stanley Williams homes Saturday.
Rev. and Mrs. Roy Mathena called on Eddie Jenkins in Sperryville, Monday. Mr. Jenkins is convalescing from a serious arm injury.
Rufus Williams was sufficiently improved to come home from the Winchester Memorial Hospital Wednesday. Saturday, Mrs. Edward Fox and daughter Glenda had as guests seven members of the Spanish Club to which Glenda belongs. Miss Judy Herman, Spanish teacher in the Warren Intermediate School, accompanied the group, and James Fox assisted with transportation. This visit was one of five planned by the Club, in which a menu of Spanish style foods was served, one such food in each home. The Fox home was the final stop and dessert was served by the hostesses in the form of Valencia Orange Cake. Mrs. Marie Williams returned home Monday after spending a few days in the home of her son, James, on Route 522, where she assisted in caring for her ill grandson, Jimmy. Jimmy is now improved and his mother, Lois, was brought home from Warren Memorial Hospital Monday. Members of the WMU and the Junior Choir of the Baptist Church called on Mr. and Mrs. Luther North Monday evening, at which time the choir sang, prayer was offered, and the Norths were presented a box of items representing a love “Pounding” for Christmas.
