journey home through the snow. But the long weekend soon ended and before we knew it school was in again.
The basketball season is upon us. Our first game with Madison has been cancelled so the first game will now be Tuesday on the home court with Luray. The Panthers have played several scrimage games and although they lost they played well and only lost by a few points. This year hopes are much higher for the team with the new coach Mr. Ellis. The team is looking forward to the support of the school and community during the season.
The SC A will sponsor a trash clean-up next week. There will be competition between each class. Each class will have a trash can to decorate and then everyone will get out and can the trash lying around school. Ten dollars ($10.00) will be given the class with the most trash. Congratulations to a great senior, Debbie Barron, who won the DAR award this year. This award is offered by the Daughters [>f the American Revolution to a deserving senior girl. The girl must display traits of leadership, tionesty, service and others. Rumors are around that the faculty is planning another Christmas program. After last /ear who knows what we’ll get, dut I hear Mr. Flinchum is going ;o be a donkey! A pep club has been formed ;his year at RCHS. This club’s job s to promote school spirit and ittend basketball games as a proup to help out with cheers, rhe club has a great number of nembers with big mouths for ;ood cheering!
