Thursday and is still a patient there. Sunday announcements at the Baptist Church urged observance of this week as a week of prayer for Foreign Missions. Services on the subject were planned by the WMU for Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights and then for a Sunday evening service at 5:45 o’clock preceding the regular 6:30 evening service. The laymen will have a supper at the church Saturday evening at 6 o’clock and will be in charge of the Sunday morning service. Mrs. Maybelle Gilkey and daughter Kelley were in Winchester Monday. Mr. and Mrs. James R. Mahoney, accompanied by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Mahoney, and his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mahoney of Bentonville, spent Saturday night and Sunday as guests in the John P. Mahoney home in Rockville, Md. and visited Johnny Mahoney, who is ill in Suburban Hospital at Bethesda. Mr. and Mrs. Philip F. Moore left for their home in Glenolden, Pa., after spending the Thanksgiving holidays in their home here and visiting her mother, Mrs. M. M. Chastain. R. D. Shelton and son Bruce of Winchester called on Mrs. Myrtle Chastain and family Sunday afternoon enroute home after taking the elder son, Bob, back to college at Charlottesville. The “Applebutter Boil” at the Fire Dept. Hall, which was postponed last week, will be held Tuesday (Dec. 7) and Wednesday (Dec. 8). All who are willing to assist are urged to be there.
