The trial for Charles ManueL Campbell of Amissville which had been set for Monday in Rappahannock County Court was postponed until August 3 after the attorney for Campbell cited several technicalities in proceedings.
Campbell, 32, is being held on four charges which include murder and robbery, the result of a slaying in Amissville in September 1970.
Attorney Edward F. Greco of Front Royal, appointed by the court for Campbell’s defense, moved that the court quash the writ of venire facias, the selection of jurymen, on grounds that it had pot been attested to and handled properly by the Clerk’s office.
The attorney also objected to the prisoner being escorted by. a deputy of the Sheriff’s Department *- into the courtroom before, u prospective jurors in pri-. son clothing, handcuffed ; and unshaven. This he fettmight prejudice the jurors selected*. —
