A SINGLE car crash was reported when a 72 Gremlin operated by Cornelia Lee Martin of Arlington struck and killed a deer on Route 211 west of Sperryville June 18. Damage was estimated at $300 by Trooper Buntin.
A two-car collision occurred on Route 729 five miles east of Flint Hill on Friday, June 16 and was investigated by Trooper K. L. Miller.
Involved was Mrs. Louise King Eastham of Washington, Va. operating a 1969 Plymouth, and Ira Douglas Blevins of Front Royal in a 62 Ford.
According to the officer the vehicles were meeting at a bridge and the Blevins car was on the bridge as the Eastham car approached. Mrs. Eastham applied her brakes and skidded into the Ford which was owned by Sarah Elizabeth Fincham, a passenger.
Mrs. Eastham sustained abrasions of the leg and bead and Elizabeth Fincham had abrasions of the legs and forehead. Both were treated at Warren Memorial Hospital and released.
