After having a large number of complaints this summer and early fall about damage the bears were doing, it would seem the bear kill would be higher. These are unpredictable animals and may have moved elsewhere. They may show up again before December 31.
Quail appear to be plentiful in spite of the heavy rains during the summer.
There have been no hunting accidents in Rappahannock County. We have a long season yet, so hunt safely. Use your best judgment and wear plenty of bright clothing. □
