He entered the U. S. Navy in 1942, where he was a cryptanalyst until his discharge as a lieutenant commander in 1946. He was also a member of the American Philological Association.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Stuckey of Washington; a brother, Ralph, and three sisters, Leona Stucky and Mrs. Henry Thompson of newburgh, N. Y.
Funeral services were held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Washington, D. C. Friday, November 24. □
