Good year
for ducks
It’s been a good year for ducks in Rappahannock County if precipitation has any thing to do with it. According to statistics reported from the official weather station in Washington, Va., to date, 1972 has been the wettest year since records have been kept (1945).
Through November the year’s total stands at 46.11 inches. The second largest amount for an 11 month period was in 1948 when rainfall measured 42.47 inches.
Highest individual month in 1972 was June with 7.68 inches recorded. The highest single month recorded since the weather station was established in 1945 was August of 1967 with 9.80 measured. □
