English film showing

RAPPAHANNOCK LEAGUE for Environmental Protection will hold a program meeting at 8 p.m. Friday, December 8, at the Sperryville Fire Hall on Route 211, just west of Sperryville.

Featured will be the showing of a 40-minute film produced by the Civic Trust of the Northwest, an English planning and environmental educational organization. Entitled “A Future for the Past,’’the film documents efforts in England to control development to the extent that “visual order” is enhanced, not destroyed, and to encourage the rehabilitation and utilization of historic buildings and grounds.

A discussion period will follow the showing of the film. Everyone is invited regardless of RLEP membership. □
