BEEF MANAGEMENT SEMINAR—Curtis Mast, Ike Eller, and Easley Smith will be the featured speakers at the beef cow and calf management school next Wednesday, January 23, at Graves Mountain Lodge.
Mast, Eller and Smith are all well known and respected Extension Specialists from V. P. I. Their four main topics for discussion are: Protein Supplements for Beef Cattle, Selection and Crossbreeding, A YearRound Management Schedule for Beef Cattle, Big Package Hay Handling for The Cowman.
Included in the above topics will be timely information on the exotic breeds, use of liquid supplements, control of grass tetany, and other subjects of current interest in cattle management.
This cow-calf management clinic is being held for a five county area and is sponsored by the Virginia Tech Extension Division. Of course, all Rappahannock residents interested in beef production are invited. Starting time is 10 a.m‘ and we will wind up at 3 p.m. The only charge will be for the luncheon at the Lodge. If you are planning on going,, please contact your Extension Office (675-36.19) by Monday, January 21, as we need to have a reasonably accurate lunch count.
