Squad busy
THE Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad was kept busy during 1973. Nineteen active members worked 575 man hours ami drove their ambulance 8900 miles.
The Sperryville Squad is one of five operating in the county and serves the Sperryville area and Piedmont District, although calls are made throughout tfie county.
One hundred and four ambulance calls were made in 1973. Heart attack victims accounted for eleven calls. The squad responded to fourteen automobile or motorcycle accidents, and people hurt in home accidents needed ambulance service 13 times.
THE remaining 66 calls for service included maternity cases, people with strokes, and carrying sick . and injured from their homes back to the hospital for further examination or treatment.
